Parliament Week

The children have been learning about parliament this week and demonstrated expert knowledge when Sir Geoffrey Cox visited. He spoke to us about his role in parliament and how laws are debated, democracy and elections.

He even brought in a bird’s nest for the children to keep that he found in his garden.

Here are some of their questions the children asked Mr Cox:

  • Why did you decide to be an MP?
  • What was your most interesting debate?
  • What is the best part of your job?
  • What was the last thing you spoke about in the chamber?
  • What are you most proud of?
  • How do you get to be a candidate for election?
  • What is your favourite part about going to parliament?
  • If you quit your job, what would you be?
